I have been trying to find a staff person to take me out into the community and work with me on daily living skills. The staff that I have worked with are not reliable and are not interested in the same activities as me. How can I find qualified staff that I enjoy hanging out with?
Through Public Partnerships(PPL) or Easter Seals someone that receives a budget through DDD (Division of Developmental Disabilities) is able to hire Self-Directed Employees (SDEs). Through Supports Brokerage, Eiros Group is able to help people identify their own SDEs. We help you put together a job ad and job description based on any specific needs that you have. We also can assist you throughout the screening and interview process, with you making the ultimate decision on who you would like to work with.
I am excited to graduate from High School next year, but I am worried about what my day will look like without all of the structure that I have become accustomed to. It was suggested to me that I go to a day program, but I am not sure if that is the right fit for me. Are there other options?
The beauty with self-direction is that you are able to choose the services that interest you and they do not need to be disability specific. You are able to pay for several different types of classes, services, and memberships through your DDD (Division of Developmental Disabilities) budget. Nervous about going to alone? No problem! We can help you find your own staff to go with you, paying the staff person through that same DDD budget.
I currently live at home with my parents and I am looking to move out into my own place. I am not in a rush, but I would like to start looking. Ideally, I would like to be living on my own in the next year or two. Is there an option for me that is not in a group licensed setting like a group home?
We are able to help people utilize several different subsidy programs through the state to pay for a majority of someone’s rent. These subsidies do not come from a person’s DDD (Division of Developmental Disabilities) budget. Whether you are looking for a 1 bedroom apartment on your own or you need a 2 bedroom with a live-in roommate, we can help through the housing and staffing process.
Since COVID I have not been back to the day program that I was previously attending. I have become accustomed to doing my own thing like playing video games and going on the computer. I am ready to get back out into the world, but I do not want to do something disability specific. How can I find fun stuff to do?
Through community mapping Eiros Group is able to set out to identify and engage with the community of your choosing. We will look at what your town has to offer and create a picture of what life is like in the area. Our seasoned Supports Brokers will venture out into your community both virtually and boots on the ground to find things that may interest you. Best of all you are more than welcome, really preferred, to accompany the Supports Brokers to explore!
