The Collaborative for Citizen Directed Supports- NJ is a statewide organization dedicated to expanding opportunities for people with disabilities to fully participate in the design and delivery of their services, with the support they need, from whom they want. We provide information, resources, and avenues to help people with disabilities live their lives to the fullest.


We are pleased to announce the upcoming 2nd Annual NJ Self-Direction Conference, brought to you in partnership with The Collaborative for Citizen Directed Supports NJ, Easter Seals and Public Partnerships Group, LLC.

The 2023 SDC is sponsored by the NJ Council on Developmental Disabilities and Eiros Group. The conference will be held online November 2 nd – 4th, 2023.


The NJ Self-Direction Conference will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn more about self-direction, share best practices, and network with other people who are supportive of self-determination. The conference will feature keynote speakers Val Bradley, President Emerita of the Human Services Research Institute, and Paul Aronsohn, New Jersey's statewide ombudsman for Individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities and Their Families. Other speakers will discuss a variety of topics related to self-direction, including:

  • How to get started with self-direction
  • Finding and working with a support broker
  • Planning for your future
  • Advocating for yourself and others


The NJ Self-Direction Conference is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about self-direction, including people with disabilities, their families, support providers, and policymakers.
