News for 2023 February

This month brings a lot of exciting news from Eiros Group!

Several members and clients of the Eiros Group traveled to Phoenix, Arizona for the annual TASH Conference last October. The theme for the conference was “Together We Rise!”

The conference brought together care givers and key disability leaders to share resources and success stories, learn
about field-driven best practices and network within a community of shared values.

Of note during the conference, our leader and founder, Jenn Brown, in conjunction with Sheldon Schwitek presented "Setting the Stage and Building Quality Team".

Our key driving focus as a supportive organization is always learning and always improving our services and becoming a better Support Broker Agency for our clients and families.

Several takeaways from workshops we attended:

  • How we can create a safespace where everyone feels welcome and supported
  • Ways we might recognize the complexity of teams and develop strategies to honor the skills that each member of the team brings
  • Ways to plan and facilitate meetings that support each of our members
  • Ways to work with members with teams
  • The roles that structure and transition play in supporting the team and customer
  • Ways to use an appreciative inquiry to answer difficult questions
  • What role vulnerability and risk play in providing quality support to individuals and
    teams

We were honored to participate, and are looking forward to next year's event!

Speaking of Sheldon, please let your Support Broker know as soon as possible to book Sheldon Schwitek for February 23rd through February 27th for MAPS and PATH training! Need more details? Contact our office!

Last November, Eiros Group also participated in another fantastic and informative conference hosted by the Supportive Housing Association of New Jersey. Attending this conference helped us to springboard our new informational sessions presenting the advantages of integrating supportive housing programs within communities. Over 300 organizations and attendees participated in this conference, and was yet again, another robust day of workshop sessions and learning!

Mark your calendars:

National Caregivers Day is Saturday, February 18

National Caregivers Day is a day to honor the many caregivers who work so hard to care for others. We understand the burden home care can place on family members and friends. Seniors “aging in place” (at home), those with chronic medical conditions, and patients recovering from surgery often require care over a very long period of time. That’s why National Caregivers Day is such an important day! Thank a caregiver!
