We Left the Office to Connect Over Coffee

Over the last few months, Eiros left the office and traveled to various parts of New Jersey to meet new and existing customers through the informal setting of a coffee shop or diner.

The relaxed atmosphere has been influential in developing a stronger, personal connection with those who attended.

On June 16, the Eiros team traveled to Burlington County. This was a time to introduce the Leadership team and area Supports Brokers in which easy going conversations such as the antics of pets, past and future vacation destinations, trials, and tribulations of raising children and the weather. There was a severe rainstorm that day!

The ambiance of the venue did not put a halt to a professional discussion. What did get conveyed at the Coffee Connection is Eiros’s dedication and recognition in what is important to our customers, their families, collaborators, and colleagues and how Eiros can assist in helping people live their best lives.

Being an active part of our community is one of the cornerstones of Eiros. We are creating opportunities where we can get to know each other, answer any and all questions you may have, and help make connections in the community. Please join us at a "Community Connections" in your area! Want more info about our Community Connections? Click here!

Coffee Connect R.S.V.P Here

A Great Team Effort!

by Kristina L. Eiros Support Broker

I met Nan last year in the middle of a search for a new place to call home, we were able to form an amazing connection rather quickly!

She knew what she wanted, and was not afraid to dive right into the search. It was important for Nan to remain close to her job, her mom, her boyfriend, many friends, and activities that she attends.

Nan would send me tons of great information and we would both methodically research and eventually connect with properties to narrow down the perfect place for Nan to live. There were a few disappointments along the way, but we stayed positive. Nan was able to reach out and get the reassurance she needed to keep forging forward on her quest for suitable housing.

Once we found the place she wanted to call home, we moved quickly to complete required paperwork, and put into place all the necessary things Nan would need to move.

Within two weeks we had utilities switched over, the moving company hired, and necessary furniture she would need, secured. When the day arrived to finally move in Nan was elated to be able to unpack and settle into her very own new home!

If you know of someone who is interested in learning more about the Housing process, please contact us, forward this email, and be sure to sign up for our newsletter for dates and locations for the Fall Lunch & Learn Housing Sessions

Core Advisory Groups (CAGs)

Thursday, July 27, 2023 | 2:00pm – 3:00pm ET

Please join the National Preparedness Division for an exciting look at Core Advisory Groups (CAGs). Kathleen Madigan, FEMA Region 2 Disability Integration Specialist and Lourdes Cabrera, Capacity Building & Individual/Community Resilience Specialist will offer an inside look at this critically important effort to involve individuals with disabilities and others with access and functional needs, their caregivers and service providers in all aspects of emergency management planning in an effort to foster a whole community approach.

Our speakers will answer the questions: What is a CAG? Who should join a CAG? Why you should join a CAG? and How to start a CAG in your community? The goal of the CAG is to promote inclusive emergency management by encouraging collaboration and partnerships between community disability stakeholders and emergency managers.

The new recently developed CAG Toolkit will be shared and explored for the first time!

Who should attend? Whole community, individuals with disabilities and other with access and functional needs, caregivers, Local, State and Federal Emergency Managers, Department of Health, and NGO’s.

Calling all Eiros Direct Support Professionals!

Do you love the work you do? Do you sometimes wish you had someone to talk to about the work? Are there times when you had someone you could call to talk about the great day you had or something you are struggling with when supporting someone else? DO you have questions about a Culture of Gentleness and how you can incorporate it into the work you do?

Eiros is looking for Direct Support Professionals (DSP) who are interested in taking a leadership role in developing and sustaining a peer support group. This will be a group that meets regularly to discuss successes and concerns that you have about the work you do.

We don’t really know exactly what this group will be or do, as we are looking to you to develop a group that is going to work for you. All staff will be reimbursed for time in hosting the group. And Eiros will provide a facilitator to get the group started and to help define its role.

If you are interested, please feel free to reach out to Sheldon Schwitek, Director of People and Culture at sheldons@eiros-group.com
